Kawanis United for Change partners with local and national social service agencies, employment agencies, and community development programs to provide comprehensive services for its participants. As they matriculate through the program, we provide the scaffolds necessary for their transition into the workforce.
Our Mission
As TEAM KUFC our mission is to empower and uplift veterans, seniors, and at-risk youth by providing comprehensive support services that foster stability, growth, and self sufficiency. Through housing assistance, financial literacy, career readiness programs, vocational training, and access to care, we strive to create a community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
Our Goals
Housing Support
- Secure safe and affordable housing for veterans, seniors, and at-risk youth.
- Provide transitional housing for individuals in need of immediate shelter.
- Offer resources and guidance for long-term housing stability.
Career Readiness
- Develop and implement job training programs tailored to the needs of veterans, seniors, and at-risk youth.
- Partner with local businesses to create internship and employment opportunities.
- Provide resume building, interview preparation, and job search assistance.
Vocational Training
- Offer vocational training programs in high-demand fields.
- Collaborate with educational institutions and industry experts to ensure relevant and up-to-date training.
- Provide certifications and qualifications that enhance employability.
Connect to Care
- Facilitate access to healthcare services, including mental health support.
- Connect individuals with community resources such as food banks, clothing drives, and financial assistance programs.
- Offer personalized case management to ensure holistic support.
Support for Veterans:
- Provide specialized services addressing the unique needs of veterans, including PTSD support and veteran-specific job placement.
- Advocate for veterans' rights and benefits.
- Create a supportive community for veterans to share experiences and resources.
Support for Seniors
- Offer programs that enhance the quality of life for seniors, including social activities and health and wellness workshops.
- Provide assistance with navigating healthcare systems and accessing senior services.
- Ensure seniors have access to nutritious food and safe living conditions.
Support for At-Risk Youth
- Develop entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and mentorship - in school and after-school programs that promote education and personal development.
- Provide CTAE pathway and resources to support youth transitioning out of foster care or in juvenile justice systems.
- Create safe spaces through food and assisted community hubs where at-risk youth can receive guidance and build positive relationships.
Community Engagement
- We provide foster a sense of community through events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
- Engage community members to build through utility creating advocacy and awareness campaigns to build and empower creditworthiness to for community effort.
- Build partnerships with other organizations to amplify our impact and reach.
